Lori Millian
1969-2025
It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of our associate lawyer, colleague and friend, Lori Millian, on Thursday April 3, 2025, after an illness she approached with the same quiet determination that she did the practice of law.
Prior to her call to the bar, Lori had earned an Honours Bachelor of Music with Distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University and had a successful career as a musician before embarking on her second career in law. She joined Monteith Ritsma Phillips first as a summer student in 2017 and 2018, and then, after graduating with her Juris Doctor in 2019 from the University of Western Ontario, she completed her articles of clerkship with Monteith Ritsma Phillips as well. She was called to the bar in June 2020.
After joining Monteith Ritsma Phillips as an associate lawyer, Lori primarily practised family law assisting a broad range of clients with commitment and enthusiasm, while also serving on the Board and as Chair of the Board of the Emily Murphy Centre. We will all miss her dedication, commitment to her clients’ well-being and her compassion as a part of our firm and our community.
