Real Estate Assistant - File Intake

Stratford Office

Monteith Ritsma Phillips is currently seeking an extraordinary candidate who is interested in learning real estate law. This is a great entry level position for a recent graduate of a legal assistant program.

To support firm and client success, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for the client on the file and manage the initial file intake.

  • Open the file for the Law Clerk and Lawyer on the deal, and work to obtain the documentation required for the transaction such as tax certificates and searches;

  • Assist Law Clerks when needed with final reporting.


To be the successful candidate you will have:

  • Have an interest in Real Estate Law

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; editing, reviewing, drafting and proofreading of legal documents; 

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn technology easily;

  • An interest in starting your law career and support the success of an established, successful and dynamic law practice;

  • Strong organizational and time management and ability to take on accountability for deadlines and client service;

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills.
